This is a scarf that has the salt still on it. Before I remove it from the frame and steam it. You can really see how it makes the pattern. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of it after it is steamed. This will be a really dark blue after steaming and washing out the extra dye.
Gorgeous, Kim! Are you using silk dyes or Procion MX? I just read your other post... never have tried steam setting, but I may have to give it a try if this is the result you get. I have used rock salt and got nice results... plan to do more in the future. Thanks for posting these!
ReplyDeleteI'm using Jacquard Red Label which requires steam setting. I haven't tried using Procion with the salt technique.
